Fees, Funding & Childcare Costs at Innsworth Preschool
Helping you understand childcare support options and providing affordable, high quality education.
We believe in total transparency. Whether you are using Government Funding or paying privately, you will always know exactly what you are paying for. We are committed to keeping our costs fair while delivering a high quality, well resourced education.
Government Funding Accepted Here
We welcome families accessing government support and strive to make the process as simple as possible. We are fully registered to accept the Universal 15 Hours funding available to all children aged three and four, as well as the Extended 30 Hours entitlement for eligible working families. We also offer places for eligible two-year-olds entitled to 15 hours of funded support.
To further help with costs, we accept payments via the Government Tax-Free Childcare scheme. If you are eligible, this scheme can contribute up to 20% towards your childcare costs, effectively reducing your bill for any additional sessions or services you choose to book.
Our Standard Fees
For sessions not covered by funding, or for families wishing to top up their hours, our rates are competitive and simple. We charge a standard hourly rate of £6.00. This means a standard morning or afternoon session (five hours) is £30.00, and a full day (ten hours) is £60.00. These standard fees always include a healthy breakfast (served until 8:45 am), mid-morning and afternoon snacks, and fresh drinking water throughout the day.
Unlock the Complete Innsworth Preschool Experience
While your government funding covers the delivery of the core Early Years curriculum, it does not cover the cost of meals, specialist equipment, or the materials for our specialist clubs. To bridge this gap, most families choose to add our optional All-Inclusive Packages. These are designed to remove the daily hassle of packing bags and allow your child to access our specialist clubs fully.
Enhancements: The “Farm School Experience” Package (£3.00 per day)
This package represents exceptional value for a programme designed to be unlike anything else in local childcare. We have established a working mock farm environment that serves as a vast outdoor learning space significantly larger than our indoor classrooms where children engage in sustainable, hands-on adventures all year round.
This package acts as an all-inclusive pass to our unique “Farm School Clubs”. In our “Seed to Spoon” and “Mini Food Tech” clubs, children do not just learn about food; they grow and harvest crops to create simple, age-appropriate snacks. They learn the basics of food preparation and preservation, creating simple fruit preserves, drying herbs, or preparing safe snacks from their own harvest to take home. The experience continues in “Petal & Pod”, where children cultivate flowers to create hand-tied bouquets, and in our “Nature Atelier”, where they turn natural materials into sustainable arts and crafts. This is supported by our Animal Husbandry programme, where children care for the animals and bring home fresh eggs in branded boxes when the hens or ducks are laying.
To ensure your child can fully embrace this muddy adventure without creating work for you, this package creates a zero-admin morning. We provide the “Explorer’s Kit,” which includes durable waterproof dungarees, safety rigger gloves, and protective sun hats. Crucially, we manage all laundry on-site, so you never have to scrub muddy kit or worry about drying it overnight. We also supply daily essentials where required, including nappies, sensitive wipes, and sun cream applied with your consent. As an additional perk, this package includes access to our optional “Studio” photography service, offering a professional-style portrait of your child (subject to consent).
Enhancements: The “Full Nourishment” Meal Plan (£4.00 per meal)
Our comprehensive meal service provides a substantial portion of your child’s daily nutrition while they are with us, removing the stress of shopping and packing lunches. We provide a nutritious two-course hot lunch and afternoon tea (dependent on session times), prepared fresh in our on-site kitchen. We adhere to robust safety standards, including clear allergen management and choke-prevention procedures, giving you confidence in your child’s safety.
We treat meal times as a form of social education. Unlike a packed lunch environment, our “Full Nourishment” plan involves social dining where staff sit and eat with the children. This turns lunch into a lesson where children learn table manners, proper cutlery use, and social skills in a supported, family-style environment.
Accessing “Funding Only” (Opting Out)
Please note that the packages above are completely optional. You are fully entitled to access your funded hours free of charge without purchasing these additions. If you choose to opt out, your child will still access the full EYFS curriculum, including the teaching delivered in the Farm School and garden. The package cost covers the take-home goods, the consumables, and the convenience, not the education.
However, opting out requires you to take on specific responsibilities. Your personal preferences will NOT excuse you from our staturoty requirements. If you opt out of the Meal Service, you must provide a nutritionally balanced packed snacks and lunch for every meal window your child attends. For safety, home-provided food must meet our published Food Safety Requirements, including strict restrictions on peanuts, tree nuts, and sesame, and safer food preparation standards (such as quartering grapes). As we do not have on-site refrigeration for packed lunches, you must also provide an insulated bag with a frozen ice pack every day. You will be required to sign a safety waiver for every session your child attends assuring the food is safe for your child and does not contain allergens that may trigger staff or children in our care.
If you opt out of the Farm School Experience, you must provide your own heavy-duty waterproof dungarees, safety gloves, and sun hat for every Farm School sessions, and you must take them home daily for washing. The farm experience is a core part of our ciriculum here. You will also need to supply your own nappies, wipes, sun cream, and 500ml stainless steel water bottle for every session. We can advise on suitable items if required. Your child will participate in all learning activities but will not receive the specific take-home produce, crafts, eggs, or the optional studio photos.
When are fees due?
